How to get BA to recognise my OneWorld status in my reservation for seat selection?

Hi - AA Gold (OneWorld Ruby) flyer here.

I've booked a multi city trip w/ BA. First city is in World Traveller Plus, second is in Club World.

I entered my AA FF# when I made my reservation (and it seems to have worked, as the very first leg is on AA metal and the reservation has shown up in my AA account already).

My understanding is that Ruby can select seats 7 days outs from the trip - when I go to Manage My Booking, however, it says "24 Hours", as if I have no status.

Any easy (or otherwise) fix for this?

Thanks!

Normally it will kick it at exactly 7 days to departure based on the time zone of the departure point. If it didn't then a phone call would fix it. So long as your AA number in the reservation then it should just work automatically.

Thanks - that's what I'm hoping.

Was just wondering because the message on the Choose My Seats page on BA does not reflect that.

Just want to follow up and say that at 7 days out it did let me choose my seats.

The message in Manage My Booking never reflected this though - it just said 24 hours up until it didn't...

We have this problem frequently with our OW status through AS. BA partner desk says it's a known issue. What's worked about 50% of the time is to open a BA frequent flyer account, add your booking, update your frequent flyer information on the booking to your AA number (or whatever you have your highest OW status on), log out, and log back in. If that fails, call your partner desk at AA. It's a futz, that's for sure.

Likewise. This has been an ongoing issue, and along with the suggestion above, I've found entering the OW Ref # in my AY account and successfully update it that way if, for whatever reason, one's unsuccessful changing it on BA.

PS - To be fair, the same thing happens with my QR bookings too, at least it does for me.

One world Ruby

I’m AAL gold flying next week on BA, so I’m allowed to pick a free seat 7 days before my flight. At the 7 day mark I went to select my seat , the screen on the app said I can pick 24 hours before the flight. Disregarding this I proceeded to selecting a seat and … the seat map popped up with no fees. I was able to select a seat !!

Jumping on this thread, I gather there is no way on MMB to see your OW status, based on status from a OW partner? Just have to wait till you get your BP?
